The Transport Department in Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region, in cooperation with Jeddah Traffic, closed 39 rental offices and reserved 111 vehicles for car rental, and warned 15 offices of the expiration of their work licenses, during extensive tours of car rental offices in the past 3 months.

The head of the Inspection Committee in the Transportation Department in Jeddah, Muhammad Al-Samdani, confirmed to Al-Madina: There are extensive tours carried out by the Transportation Department in Makkah Al-Mukarramah on the violating car rental offices, stressing that the committee closed the violating rental offices and confiscated the vehicles that occupy the roads and public places in front of the rental offices. cars in Jeddah.

Al-Samdani pointed out that the most prominent car rental violation is not having a permit that allows him to work and open rental shops with fake footnotes, in addition to the violation of parking more than two vehicles in front of the rental store.

Al-Samdani stressed on the owners of car rental offices shops of the need to deal in accordance with the regulations issued by the Ministry of Transport, which stipulates that no permit is given to a car rental shop except after it owns a yard containing the vehicles to be rented and allows the owners of those shops to park only two vehicles in front of each store.

Al-Samdani noted that the fine for having more than two vehicles in front of any car rental shop amounts to 500 riyals for each vehicle.

He added that the campaign to clean public roads from car rental vehicles continues throughout the year and there are successive campaigns through which many violating vehicles have been confiscated and owners of violating car rental shops have been fined.

He added that there are many car rental shops that rent fake parking lots to obtain a permit from the Ministry of Transport, pointing out that they make sudden rounds throughout the year to uncover them, pointing out that the shop that is discovered not to have parking spaces will be fined 5,000 riyals.

Al-Samdani warned against cooperating with car rental offices except after making sure that there is a valid shop license. In order not to fall into the trap of manipulators by the various leasing offices, which are only interested in obtaining money without the safety and regularity of the beneficiaries in the leasing market.

On a continuous level, the assigned Director of Traffic of Jeddah Governorate, Wasallah Al-Harbi, confirmed that there is a committee by the Transportation and Traffic Department of Jeddah Governorate to prevent the work of any violating rental office and seize vehicles that close or narrow roads.

Al-Harbi pointed out that 39 car rental offices that do not have a permit have been closed by the Ministry of Transport and Communications in Jeddah, and more than 111 vehicles have been seized for fear of parking on the roads, noting that the traffic system stipulates that “no more than two vehicles should be parked in front of each car rental store.” To warn 15 car rental offices about the expiration of the shop’s license, provided that they expedite the completion of their identification papers by the concerned authorities, during the past 3 months.
Al-Harbi added that we have allowed the opening of 32 car rental shops, which started operating in the past weeks.
