UAE: “Dubai Ambulance” creates a car to transport obese patients
The Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services announced the innovation of the first ambulance for people with heavy weights of up to 500 kilograms.
According to the Executive Director of the Foundation, Khalifa Bin Dray, the new vehicle was designed with special specifications to bear obese patients, and transport them to the hospital without exposing them to any risks, explaining that the vehicle contains a stretcher that carries obese bodies, and is lifted hydraulically.
He explained that the Foundation created this car against the backdrop of receiving many reports of sick cases weighing more than 200 kilograms, pointing out that paramedics in the Foundation found several difficulties in transferring these cases to hospitals, according to “Emirates Today”.
