Three government agencies have started imposing fines on car showroom owners who deal in cash when selling cars, represented by the Ministries of Interior, Finance, Trade and Industry.
According to Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued a circular to the Council of Chambers of Commerce, stating that most exhibitions, galleries, agencies, and auctions of cars, trucks, heavy equipment, and motorcycles will continue to deal in cash, despite the existence of several recommendations that prevent this.
For his part, Saeed Al Bassami, head of the Vehicles and Transportation Committee at the Jeddah Chamber, explained that the phenomenon of cash sales in car showrooms is widespread in Jeddah, especially on Thursdays and Fridays, and the number of security patrols must be increased on these two days.
