The Japanese company, Toyota, announced that the price of the all-new 2020 Corolla will start at $20,430 (about 77,000 riyals), an increase of only $800 over the price of the basic category for the 2019 edition.
(CNET) said that the price increase in the basic category (L) is remarkably small, given that the car is completely new in all its components, even the platform (chassis).
However, the higher categories record significant increases in price, especially since the new Corolla has more equipment compared to the previous versions.
The price of the Corolla LE starts at $ 20,880, an increase of only $ 815 over the previous version, and the Corolla XLE is about two thousand dollars, recording $ 24,880.
The three cars use a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine with 139 horsepower, while the SE and XSE versions rely on a larger 2.0-cylinder engine with 169 horsepower.
And the SE version is the only one in the new Corolla, some of which will be sold with a six-speed manual transmission at a price of $ 23,580, while the price will be reduced to $ 22,880 when equipped with a variable automatic transmission.
As for the higher version, the XSE, it will be offered with a variable transmission only, and its price will reach $ 26,380, especially since it will rely on a larger engine.
The 2020 Corolla Hybrid will be available only in the LE category, and its price will start at $ 23,880, and it has been reported to record about 84 kilometers per gallon (3.8 liters) on highways and in the city on average.
This measurement makes the Corolla Hybrid fuel-saving to a large extent, and it will be the cheapest hybrid car in Toyota, especially since the “Prius C” will be discontinued, while the price of the other Prius starts at $ 24,700.
