King Saud Medical City identified the symptoms that appear on a person with water allergy, or what is known as watery urticaria, indicating the most important methods adopted to reduce them.
The city explained that the symptoms of water allergy include: redness of the skin in the form of swelling, a feeling of burning and itching, difficulty in swallowing and breathing, and hearing whistling in severe cases.
She added that these symptoms can be alleviated with antihistamines as a first choice, and some creams and ointments that buffer the skin and water, such as Vaseline, light therapy, omalizumab, or beta-alanine supplements, and adding sodium bicarbonate to bathing water.
She pointed out that water sensitivity is a rare type of urticaria that causes a rash, which appears after touching water, rain, sweat and tears.
