A fight and a fight under the dome of the Parliament of Bolivia because of a governor

A quarrel broke out between deputies inside the parliament in Bolivia, between supporters and opponents of the government, while submitting a report to a minister in the government of left-wing President Luis Arce.

Parliament summoned Minister Eduardo del Castillo to report on the arrest and imprisonment of the governor of Santa Croce and an opposition leader last December.

The minister tried to defend the legality of the arrest, criticizing opposition parliamentarians as extremist and violent groups that came to steal the wallets of the Bolivian people.

During the minister’s speech, opposition deputies carried banners with phrases such as “With political prisoners, there is no democracy” and pictures of Del Castillo that read “Minister of Terrorism.” When a number of pro-government parliamentarians tried to grab the banners, a fight broke out between about 20 deputies, during which they exchanged Punches for minutes.

The quarrel ended without serious injuries to either party, to suspend the submission of the report for a short period, with Del Castillo accused of promoting a hostile climate.
