“Anti-Corruption” forces the Ministry to specify the cars allocated to its employees

The National Anti-Corruption Commission forced one of the ministries to determine the number of cars issued to employees, agents and department directors, and to investigate the case of the 450 cars that were received by powerful people following a complaint filed by an employee against his ministry.

A few hours after “Sabq” published the news, which was titled “An anti-corruption complaint about employees obtaining cars without the right,” the ministry quickly issued a circular regulating the mechanism for delivering and distributing cars and fuel exchange orders.

In his speech, the minister stressed that two cars should be kept for his office in Riyadh, and the same for his office and secretariat in Jeddah, and a car for each of the agents, directors and some employees who deserve the car, provided that it is used for official work only.

Previously, the National Anti-Corruption Authority examined a complaint filed by an employee against his ministry, regarding the disbursement of more than 450 cars to “influential” employees in a number of departments, while they were registered in the names of other employees to mislead, he said.

The employee attached 12 pages, which he obtained from the Ministry’s database – a copy of which “Sabaq” obtained – showing the names of the employees in whose names the cars were registered, and it was found that 28 cars of different make and model were registered to one employee! And other data showing the restriction of five to seven cars each time with the names of employees in various departments. The employee also attached fuel exchange orders for each car, ranging between 800 and 1,000 liters per month.

According to the employee, the National Anti-Corruption Authority received the case file, and the transaction was recorded with a number and date, and it showed its willingness to follow up on the complaint as soon as possible, and to decide on the results of the investigation and announce them to the public opinion.
