A supercar that travels more than 1,600 km…and never runs out of fuel!

An American automaker unveiled a new hydrogen-powered “supercar” that can travel more than 1,600 kilometers without the need to refuel.

In the details, and according to what was published by the British newspaper “Daily Mail”, the speed of the XP-1 car from Hyperion can reach from zero to 100 km / h per hour in 2.2 seconds, while the manufacturer says that the maximum speed of the XP-1 reached 350 km. /hour.

Water vapor

Although a new car usually emits only water vapor, separating hydrogen from oxygen is a tedious process that requires non-renewable resources such as coal or natural gas, and thus this point undermines selling cars with hydrogen fuel as an environmentally friendly alternative.

Only 300 cars are scheduled to be produced in 2022, joining many other hydrogen-powered cars on the market, including the Honda Clarity, Toyota Mirai and Hyundai Nexo.

The XP-1, a high-tech roadster, is the product of nearly a decade of development and is equipped with all-wheel drive and a three-speed transmission.

Aerodynamic elements behind the swinging doors help cornering at high speed and double, and solar panels on the body of the car change their position to match the path of the sun.

Impressive cabin

Inside the cabin, there is a 98-inch curved screen, while the controls do not need touch, but operate with just a gesture.

Also in context, the wrap-around glass canopy provides a 360-degree view of the outside world, and the lightweight exterior is made of carbon and titanium.

It also takes only a few minutes to refuel, and this is much faster compared to the long hours it takes to charge the batteries of electric-powered cars, in addition to its superiority over its electric counterparts in its compatibility with cold weather.

The XP-1 stores energy in carbon fiber tanks rather than a bulky lithium-ion battery. Unlike fossil fuels, hydrogen is readily available, renewable, and does not produce carbon monoxide and other harmful emissions.

More fuel!

In turn, Angelo Kavantaris, CEO of the Hyperion manufacturer, said: The main purpose is to promote hydrogen as a safe and efficient fuel source, explaining that “it was designed [سيارة] XP-1 in part to be an educational tool for the masses.”

It is noteworthy that aeronautical engineers have long recognized the advantages of hydrogen as the most abundant and lightest element in the universe, and now, with increasing competition between manufacturers of hydrogen-fueled cars, the consumer can evaluate for himself whether a practical idea is worth owning.
