Official statistics issued by the competent authorities revealed that one car is stolen every hour in the Kingdom, indicating that the security authorities were able to recover only 46% of the total number of stolen cars.
Riyadh – according to the statistics reported by the “Makkah” newspaper – topped the regions of the Kingdom in terms of the number of car theft reports with 3907 reports, and 2313 cars were recovered, followed by Makkah Al-Mukarramah region with 2621 theft reports, of which only 927 vehicles were recovered.
The statistics indicated that the total number of cars that were stolen from their owners, during the year 1434 AH, in various regions of the Kingdom, amounted to more than 9 thousand cars, of which only about 4,200 were recovered, or only 46% of the total stolen cars.
