The jury of the Cannes International Film Festival in France awarded a dog the “Best Performance” award for his role in the French film (Anatomie d’une chute), which won the Palme d’Or at the festival.

The committee praised the dog’s convincing and realistic performance, as he performed a dramatic scene in the movie in which he pretended to be ill in a way that seemed real, noting that he had all the criteria for stardom.

The film takes place in the framework of the trial of a German writer accused of killing her husband in a chalet they own in the French Alps, while the festival witnessed the participation of 5 Arab countries with various films, including Egypt, Morocco and Sudan.
