A court in Jeddah obliges a car rental company to pay 30,000 to a citizen after including his name in the “Simah” lists.

The General Court in Jeddah ruled obligating a car rental company to pay 30,000 riyals in compensation to a citizen, after including his name in the “Simah” credit lists with the same amount for a period of two years.

The citizen said, according to “Okaz”, that he discovered when he applied to a bank for a loan recently, and his request was rejected. Due to the presence of a ban on his name, the leasing company demanded an amount of 30 thousand riyals for him.

He explained that he rented a car from the company for a period of only three days, years ago, indicating that the company reported that it had listed his name by mistake, so he resorted to the judiciary, demanding compensation for the damages incurred, so the court ordered the company to oblige the aforementioned amount.
