A Saudi team from Al-Faisal University won one of the awards of an annual international competition organized by Shell for fuel-efficient cars, by designing a car that was able to cover a distance of 300 km with only one liter of fuel.
Ibrahim Al-Faris, the team leader and mechanical engineering student at the university, said that the car is economical with a very light weight, indicating that they made several modifications to the engine by changing the pressure inside it, which made the car depend on air more than gasoline.
On the other hand, two other teams from the university are working to design two cars, the first to design a car to participate in a global race to be held in Britain in which 80 teams from most countries specialized in the automotive industry will participate, while the other team is working to produce a car powered by solar energy to participate in a competition that will be held in Texas in the United States.
