King Abdullah Medical City reviewed the recommended times for eye examinations for children, noting that those diagnosed with diabetes or heart disease will need to undergo eye examinations at frequent intervals and with greater regularity.

The city indicated that the recommended times for eye examinations for children and adolescents are at least once between the ages of 3 and 5, and before entering kindergarten, and this is usually between the ages of 5 and 6, and annually at the secondary level.

She added that the American Academy of Ophthalmology recommended healthy adults who do not have vision problems or eye diseases to conduct an integrated eye examination at least once between the ages of 20 and 29, and at least twice between the ages of 30 and 39, and every two to four years. In the period between 40 and 54 years, and every year to 3 years in the period between 55 and 64 years, and every year to two years after the age of 65.
