A new report by the “ESET” information security company revealed that the iRecorder screen recording application was involved in secretly spying on Android users, after a malicious program was added to it, one year after its launch on the “Google Play” store.
The report indicated that the software added to the application allows a minute of ambient sound to be downloaded surreptitiously from the device’s microphone every 15 minutes, in addition to extracting documents, web pages, and media files from the user’s phone.
He added that this software belongs to the malicious software of the type Remote Access Trojan, which is known as RAT, and it allows the hacker to control the victim’s device remotely.
