Today (Thursday), the competitions of the first edition of the “Al-Ula Camel Cup” will continue, which is organized by the Royal Commission for Al-Ula Governorate, in cooperation with the Saudi Camel Federation.
The race takes place on the Al-Ula Camel Track, and its area is approximately 20 million square km, while the main track has an area of 8 kilometres, a length of 8140 meters, a width ranging from 20 to 38 meters, and has five turns, and two tracks with a total length of 16 kilometers, while the length of Training course 6 yards.
The Heritage Village in Al-Ula displays its products on the sidelines of the race, which varied between restaurants, food stalls, and stores that simulate the past, such as Al Sadu weaving, which was associated with camels, pottery making, and traditional costumes.
The province of Al-Ula is characterized by its diverse historical heritage, as large groups of various inscriptions and drawings are spread on the mountain pages, and camels formed a large part of those drawings.
