Study: Drinking tap water during pregnancy increases children’s risk of autism

A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of California, USA, revealed that drinking tap water during pregnancy promotes the birth of children who are more susceptible to autism.

The study pointed out, according to the scientific journal “UCLA”, that tap water contains high levels of lithium, which doubles the rate of having children prone to autism by 50%.

It also warned of an increase in lithium levels in the water in the future. Due to the increased use of lithium batteries and their disposal in river streams, especially in Denmark, whose population depends on tap water more than bottled water.
