Toyota aims to supply one million electric cars globally by 2026

Toyota Motor Corp. intends to start producing electric cars in the United States by the summer of 2025.

The company will start producing about 1,000 cars per month, with production increasing successively to more than 10,000 cars per month by the end of 2025. With the goal of achieving a global supply rate of 1 million units by 2026, Bloomberg reported, citing Japan’s Nikkei newspaper.

Toyota is currently building a battery factory for electric and hybrid vehicles in North Carolina, which is expected to be completed by 2025, and plans to invest about 870 billion yen in battery production in Japan and America by 2026.
