It is 7 thousand years old.. Discovering a road to a buried city at the bottom of the Mediterranean

Archaeologists from the University of Zadar in Croatia have discovered the remains of a 7,000-year-old road at the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea off the country’s southern coast, which dates back to a city inhabited by the Havar people before it was buried with layers of sea mud.

The researchers explained, according to the scientific magazine “Sciencealert”, that the discovered road is one of the paved roads that formed the urbanization of the ancient city of Solin, and the residents used it at the time to reach a neighboring island for the purpose of fishing and trade.

They added that one of the most important reasons that led to the preservation of the site from destruction and erosion is that this area is safe from rough waves because many islands protect the coast, unlike most parts of the Mediterranean.
