Today (Saturday), the Ministry of Health explained the reason why pregnant women are among the groups most vulnerable to complications from infection with the emerging coronavirus, as part of the “Live Healthy” initiative that the Ministry recently launched.
The ministry attributed this to the fact that a woman’s immune system is affected by hormonal and physical changes during pregnancy, noting that the vulnerability increases if she suffers from a chronic disease such as diabetes, sickle cell anemia and other diseases.
