Peugeot plans to launch a fully electric car this year

French automaker Peugeot plans to launch a fully electric, zero-emissions car in late summer this year. The company is also preparing to provide electric versions of all its cars by 2023, with petrol and diesel versions of the 208 model still available.

It indicated that the E208 car is powered by a 100-kilowatt electric motor and a 50-kilowatt-hour battery, with a range of 211 miles (339.5 km).

The vehicle can be charged using three methods, as the home plug can provide a full charge within 20 hours or more, while it may take 8 hours when connected to a car charging station, and it can also be charged by public stations that provide the possibility of fast charging.

Peugeot UK director David Bell said that the company considers the launch of the E208 a major step in strengthening Peugeot’s position in the electric car market.
