Ford officially unveiled its “Explorer 2020” at the Detroit Motor Show this year, and for the first time since the 2011 release, the famous vehicle will appear with a rear-wheel drive system. It also added a hybrid version and replaced the Sport category with the “ST” category.
The “Motor Authority” website said that it had obtained from the company a price list for the categories of the new version of the Explorer, indicating that it would start from approximately 128,000 riyals.
The price of the basic category will not differ much from the price of the current 2019 version (about 128 thousand riyals), while the car will receive a new 300-horsepower engine instead of the previous V-6 engine that records 290 horsepower.
The 2020 Explorer will receive a ten-speed automatic transmission instead of the current six-speed transmission, which means more acceleration and fuel economy.
The price of the second category XLT is about 143,000 riyals, and this version will receive more features, including electrically adjustable front seats.
The price of the third category, Explorer Limited, will reach approximately 187,000 riyals, in exchange for more equipment than the current version, including wireless charging and a comprehensive vision camera system.
The price of the “Explorer Platinum” category is about 224 thousand riyals, and it will depend on a turbo engine that generates 265 horsepower, while the price of the “ST” sports category will reach about 206 thousand riyals.
The base-class price of the new Explorer is higher than its competitors, the Dodge Durango and Chevrolet Traverse, but it is close to other competitors such as the Honda Pilot and Mazda C-X9.
