Believe it or not… a super fast wooden car!
In a paradox expressed to the imagination, a car made of wood was launched at a speed exceeding 160 kilometers per hour, and set a speed record in a race on Pendayn Sands Beach in the British Carmathenshire, Wales.
The wooden car broke its previous speed record, when its creator Kevin Nix drove it at a speed of up to 163.5 kilometers per hour, slightly outperforming the previous record achieved last year.
Kevin supplied the car with an Audi RS4 engine with a capacity of 450 horsepower, according to the British newspaper “The Sun”.
Nix said he was delighted to have set a new record for his handcrafted wooden car, which cost around £13,000, after its engine exploded during a race in New York City three months ago.
Nix indicated that he did not want to participate in the “Top Speed” race this year, after the accident, for fear of a repeat of the accident, but he changed his mind in the last moments and set a record.
