Developing a new revolutionary treatment that eliminates stomach cancer
A research team from Cornell University, in collaboration with AstraZeneca, a biopharmaceutical company, has developed a new treatment that completely kills stomach cancer cells, consisting of antibody fragments and molecularly engineered nanoparticles.
According to the scientific journal “Advanced Therapeutics”, the researchers began searching for a therapeutic version after they were able to produce antibody fragments targeting HER2 proteins associated with stomach cancer.
It also includes nanoparticles of silica, the size of which is only 6 nanometers, which are able to penetrate tumors and pass safely through organs once they are injected into the body.
