A report expected that the number of women who will be able to drive cars in the Kingdom will reach three million women by the end of 2020, and that the car market will witness a growth of 9% annually, after implementing the decision to allow women to drive in the coming Shawwal.
The report, prepared by the “PWC” company for economic supervision and consulting services, indicated that the number of females in the Kingdom is expected to reach 15 million in 2020, and it is expected that 20% of them will drive cars by that year, or about three million women.
He stated that the Makkah region will witness the highest demand for driving, with 801,000 female drivers, followed by Riyadh with 728,000, then the eastern region with 427,000, and Medina with 204,000 women.
And he stated that car sales are expected to grow accordingly by 9% annually until 2025 AD, and that the car insurance market will grow by 9% annually to reach 30 billion riyals by 2020 AD, and the annual growth rate of car rental is expected to increase by 4% during the period From 2017-2025 AD.
The report added that the volume of demand for driving licenses will increase by 15% in 2020, and the number of driving schools in the Kingdom will increase by more than 50%, indicating that women’s driving will provide more investment opportunities, as many new companies will enter to invest in other sectors. In addition to providing many job opportunities in the automotive sector to meet the growing demand.
