The Ministry of Transport announced the issuance of a new car rental regulation; With the aim of organizing the sector more, and to clearly define the rights and duties of both the tenant and the landlord.
According to Al-Jazeera newspaper, the ministry stated that the regulation will also include details of the insurance process and the responsibilities of both parties in cases of accidents.
The Ministry indicated that the contract registration and preservation processes for rental offices are currently being regulated and their foundations are determined, adding that rental vehicles will be linked to the “wasl” platform, and the requirements for locations of rental offices will be amended so that their vehicles do not cause congestion in the surrounding neighborhoods and streets.
For his part, the official spokesman for the Ministry, Turki Al-Taimi, said that taxi companies and offices will be obligated to link to the “wasl” platform, starting next month, and this includes registering Saudi private vehicle drivers, with the exception of state employees, while foreign drivers who are under the sponsorship of licensed companies are allowed to provide services. Public and private fare.
