The Japanese company “Toyota” showed a car called “Concept-i” at the “Las Vegas” Consumer Electronics Show, and the company does not intend to put it into production or try it on the road, but rather just to show its vision of the future.
The director of the Toyota Research Institute, Gil Pratt, explained during the announcement of the car that this vision depends on two axes; One is to provide a safer car, and the other is to change the way humans interact with vehicles.
Pratt stressed that the design of this car took into account the death of thousands of people annually in road accidents due to the mishandling of the car driver as a machine, and therefore, self-driving vehicles may be the solution.
Toyota hopes, through the “Concept-i” car, to show its glimpses of artificial intelligence technology and treat cars as a friend, not just a machine, as stated in a report published by the “Popular Mechanics” website.
