A new service has been launched in the Emirate of Dubai that enables visitors and residents of the city to rent a car through an application available on smart phones called “U drive”, at a cost of 50 fils per minute and not exceeding 120 dirhams, including fuel, insurance and parking services.
The U drive service is characterized by being completely dependent on smart phones, as it is an electronic application linked to a fleet of cars spread throughout the Emirate of Dubai, and the subscriber to this service can drive them wherever he wants.
In order to benefit from the service, it is possible to register on the service’s website, enter basic information such as the ID or passport number, driver’s license information, and upload a copy of the passport and license on the website. After activating the registration via e-mail, the service application is downloaded to the phone and registration data is entered.
After that, a map will appear on the application with the whereabouts of the cars, and the user can choose the car he wants to rent, and upon reaching it, he can open the car and enter a secret code to release the key and drive the car.
