The Japanese automaker, Toyota, has decided to recall an additional 1.37 million Toyota and Lexus vehicles, due to a defect in the airbags.

The list of models to be recalled includes Toyota Corolla, Tundras, Sequoia, and Lexus, bringing the total number of cars recalled in the American market to nearly 3 million, due to the airbag problem, according to the German news agency.

The company says that the swelling of the front airbags during accidents can lead to an explosion and the spread of metal fragments, which can cause serious injuries to passengers, and it is suspected that the problem of the airbags has killed 6 people so far in America and Malaysia.
