The Roads and Transport Department in Makkah Al-Mukarramah has begun to apply a fine of 500 riyals to those taxi drivers who ignore the operation of the fare counter, according to its Director General, Eng. Khaled Al-Otaibi, to “Makkah”.
Al-Otaibi pointed to the spread of callers with car reservations, as they are the main sources of transportation for those coming from outside Makkah, which are the Jeddah express reservation, Al-Nuwariya, Al-Shara’i, Al-Laith, and Al-Kar, indicating that there is an organization that took place between his administration and the Traffic Department of the Holy Capital to follow up the movement of taxis inside the streets and Umrah timings.
